Dear Readers:

The poetry world is in a panic tonight, as travelling poet Jay Walker has gone missing and has been out of communication for over 24-hours. For Mr. Walker, this is HIGHLY irregular behavior, and his friends, family, loved ones, and community are all very concerned for him.

If you have seen this man, please notify the Austin, TX Police Department's Office of Missing Persons!

(His vehicle is actually a Ford Windstar; but the plate # is correct).

If you believe in a spiritual power, please pray to him/her/it. I will post an update as soon as more information is known.

  1. Tazi, I have known this man since we were kids. Before he disappeared his last tweets wrote of doing something "drastic". For Jay, this could mean killing himself or just making it sound like he wanted to kill himself and then disappearing as one giant publicity stunt. With Jay you just never know. I am praying he is found okay.

  4. From what I hear, this is highly uncharacteristic of Mr. Walker. If this were, as one comment suggests it could be, a "publicity stunt" I think he would have ended it after a few hours...my continued prayers are with him and his family.

  5. It is unusual. Weve been friends since 02, the man is a twitter addict. Even on his busiest days there is atleast 5. Even when his phone stopped working. Plus he wouldnt scare his son like this for publicity. Jay has depression and ran out of his medication last I knew.

  6. If it's any consolation, this post has been viewed a few hundred times in the last few days, and has high readership in the Southwest U.S. - where Mr. Walker was last seen. Hopefully, they are spreading the word.
